About The Look Up Center
The Look Up Center is a Faith based non-profit established by Scott and Bernice Hayes in 2004. Our community center is mainly supported by local churches, individual contributors, and volunteers. Look Up seeks to bring restoration to the individual, the family, and the community. We believe that the truth of Christ is the only source of true redemption and deliverance from addictions and suffering and that it is not enough to equip the people with just their physical needs, but their spiritual needs as well. We look to Jesus’ life as the model of our mission.
Yesterday (4.23.20), amidst the cold and gloomy backdrop, Bonnie Sumner and Pastor Dave attended the graduation of 9 individuals who overcame less than wonderful home lives. Their adversity carried through experiences of drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness, prison/jail time, financial hardships, and COVID-19. These nine wonderful overcomers came through with flying colors by adapting their learning styles around the necessary quarantine, changed teaching/learning methods, and on-line testing to graduate. We had a drive-by graduation celebration. Approximately 30 cars were festooned with signs and balloons, we clapped, honked horns and celebrated their achievements. They are as pictured: Aaron Meredith, Greggory Gough, Jacqueline Partin, Levi Hollingshead, Prince Allen, and Cameron Landis. Graduating, but not pictured are: Robert Bragg, Devon Sapp, and Dalton Clapper. Please keep these successes in your prayers. They are truly AWESOME individuals that we are better for having met. They are why the Look Up Center exists and why we do what we do. Remind Pastor Dave of these overcomers the next time he says he can’t get something done.
